What do we mean by concerned?

• The CBAP, is concerned that alumni should be aware of and moved to reinforce President Eisgruber’s progressive declarations to the Princeton community that his administration and the Board of Trustees are focused currently on the elimination of systemic racism at Princeton and beyond.

• As supportive alumni for racial justice, we are concerned about how our alma mater combats historic and systemic inequities and racism.

• As activist alumni for social justice, we are concerned that Black alumni and alumni of color affected by racism must have a seat at the table when decisions are made about combating and eradicating racism and its legacies.

• As engaged alumni of Princeton University, we are concerned about how to collaborate actively with the Princeton University administration and the Board of Trustees to transform Princeton into all that it aspires to be and should be.

What is CBAP’s™ relationship to ABPA, ALPA, A4P, NAP?

ABPA, ALPA, A4P, NAP are alumni affinity group with the mission of strengthening relationships between affiliated alumni and the broader University community. CBAP™ is an alumni group whose mission is singular: establishing a Center to combat and eradicate racism.

What is CBAP’s™ relationship to the Carl A. Fields Center?

The Carl A. Fields Center is the University’s cultural center designed as a student friendly space to “acknowledge and question race, class, privilege and culture at Princeton and beyond” and “empower, engage, educate individuals and institutions within the University community to develop, implement and support systems of inclusion.”

We share the objectives of the Carl Fields Center and have the written acknowledgement of the Fields family in support of our goal to establish an academic center to combat and eradicate racism.

Is CBAP™ open to all?

Yes. We welcome all alumni who support the public interest advocacy mission of CBAP™ to oppose hatred, racism, and discrimination in all its forms by calling for the creation of an interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary academic, applied research Center based at Princeton University to combat and eradicate racism in the United states and beyond.

How is the CBAP™ leadership comprised?

Initially conceived and founded by Black alumni of Princeton from the Classes of 1974, 1976 and 1979, CBAP™ is a social justice advocacy collaboration and consensus group, and CBAP’s™ leadership is comprised of multicultural. multi-ethnic, multi-racial and multi-generational group of accomplished professional alumni.
